List of Pokémon episodes (seasons 14–current)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

This is a list of episodes of the Pokémon animated series (ポケットモンスター Poketto Monsutā, Pocket Monsters). The division between seasons of Pokémon is based on the English version openings of each episode and may not reflect the actual production season. The English episode numbers are based on their first airing either in syndication, on The WB Television Network, Cartoon Network, or on Disney XD. Subsequent episodes of the English version follow the original Japanese order, except where banned episodes are shown.

Team Rocket turns up once again, but this time instead of stealing Pikachu they plan to steal all of the nectar. However, their interference causes Bounsweet to evolve into a Steenee with a devastating slap attack.

After watching a group of Crabrawler, following a Cutiefly to a meadow full of friendly bug Pokémon and having fun with a group of Alolan Exeggutor, they are overrun by a school of Wimpod who try to steal their snacks. Preparing to return home, they find a Wimpod trapped inside a blocked cave. With the help of one of the Exeggutor from earlier, they manage to reach and free Wimpod, who thanks Ash before returning to its school. Ash and Pikachu see another Island Guardian, Tapu Lele, who heals Ash's bruised hands.

Ash carries the Stoutland to the Pokémon Center, where Ash, Pikachu, and Rotom learn that Stoutland is seriously ill. Litten and Stoutland escape from the Pokémon Center and return to their riverside den, where Stoutland passes away in the night. After realizing what has happened, Litten is heart-broken and refuses to be comforted by anyone. After Litten finally comes to terms with the loss of its friend, Ash asks Litten to join him, and Litten decides to test him by battling against Pikachu. When the battle ends in a draw, Litten chooses to become one of Ash's Pokémon. Team Rocket's Meowth, who for reasons of his own has been secretly watching everything, seems pleased by the outcome.

Ash's attempt to temporarily replace it with Rotom-Dex only makes things worse. In a rage, Sandygast evolves into Palossand and swallows up Ash and also Litten when it tries to rescue him. Meanwhile, Ash is reluctantly trying to prepare a report he has to give in front of his classmates, the school visitors, and his own mother. Both gangs spot a Darkinium Z-crystal embedded in a large rock. The problem is, the rock is the current lair of the Raticate and Rattata infestation from earlier. The two gangs compete to acquire the Z-crystal with Team Rocket emerging as the winners. With the Z-crystal in their possession, they try to figure out how to use it.

A trainer named Gladion, dressed in black, battling with a powerful fiery-eyed Lycanroc and wearing a Z-ring, has appeared on Melemele Island. After seeing them in action, Ash naturally wants to battle Gladion. However, he's totally shocked when Lillie appears and calls Gladion her brother. Gladion seems cold towards Lillie and at first refuses Ash's challenge, but he learns that Ash got his Z-ring from Tapu Koko and had actually battled the Island Guardian. That night, Gladion's Umbreon delivers a note to Ash agreeing to battle. It's Ash's Rockruff versus Gladion's Lycanroc! However, Team Rocket, who saw Gladion defeat the Team Skull grunts earlier, can't resist getting involved. Ash and Gladion must work together to rescue Pikachu and Lycanroc.

Pokémon Base, a version of baseball in which both humans and Pokémon are players, is extremely popular in the Alolan Islands, and naturally Ash and his friends are big fans. Professor Kukui, Principal Oak, and human Pokémon Base star, Oluolu, act as judges in a spirited game between the students (Ash, Pikachu, Sophocles, Togedemaru, Lana, and Popplio vs. Kiawe, Turtonator, Mallow, Steenee, Lillie, and Snowy). After Team Rocket's Meowth gets beaned by Lana's home run ball, Jessie, who has a crush on Oluolu, drags Team Rocket into a game against the students with Oluolu's autograph as the prize. It's Ash, Pikachu, Rockruff, Kiawe, Oluolu, and his Snorlax against James, Mareanie, Jessie, Wobbuffet, Mimikkyu, and Meowth.

Ash and his classmates go on a camping trip in the forest. The trip does not start out well when Lana scares them all with a ghost story about a traveler who had all his energy drained from him, while he was asleep. However, they have no idea that they are being spied on by a mysterious Pokémon. One by one, the gang except for Lillie is attacked, knocked out, and their energy drained from them. The culprit turns out to be a hungry Morelull. Ash figures out a way that the Morelull can get all the energy it needs from him, and later the gang finds out why the Morelull need so much energy.

As part of a class assignment, each of the students must take care of each other's Pokémon partner for the weekend. Pikachu gets to stay with Lillie at her mansion, and Lillie is determined to try and overcome her fear of getting close to Pokémon, so she uses Ash's methods to gain Pikachu's trust. At Lana's home, Turtonator is having trouble with her twin sisters, while Mallow also has problems with Togedemaru while working at her family restaurant. Sophocles's experiments with Steenee don't work out well, but he finds that Steenee can be a great night-time comfort. At his family's dairy farm, Kiawe assigns Popplio to work with his younger sister, Mimo, but he finds the water Pokémon to be a great problem-solver with the farm's Tauros. Snowy keeps giving Ash the cold shoulder but finally warms up to him when Ash includes Snowy in his Pokémon's training sessions.

She completely wins over everybody's Pokémon including Litten. The class and Professor Kukui will be traveling to Akala Island for a special practical class under Olivia's supervision. On the way, they encounter various types of Sea Pokémon. After Ash and Pikachu join Olivia in an underwater swim, they find a Wailmer trapped in a rock crevice by a vicious Bruxish. Now they have to help the Wailmer and fend off the Bruxish at the same time.

As part of Olivia's practical lesson on Akala Island, the gang are sent on treasure hunts across the island mounted on Stoutland, each of which reacts differently to its rider: Ash's Stoutland is extremely friendly and enthusiastic, Lana's Stoutland does not seem to like her, and Lillie has trouble even getting close to her Stoutland. In the first round, Ash finds three gemstones, Mallow finds giant mushrooms, Kiawe finds a large fossil, Lana and Sophocles find nothing and Lillie is still trying to approach her Stoutland. In the second round, Lana and Popplio run into a hostile Pokémon which is fought off by her Stoutland, an Alolan Geodude Ash mistakes for a fossil gets away when he tries to catch it, Mallow finds a giant fruit, Kiawe finds another fossil, Sophocles uses technology to find a piece of meteorite, and Lana finds a lump of metal that can be made into a Z-ring, making her the winner. At last, Lillie uses her experiences with Snowy and Pikachu to finally get close to her Stoutland.

With no class today, Ash and Lana go Pokémon-fishing, but they may end up catching more than they bargained for since the lagoon they're fishing in may contain a water-type Totem Pokémon. If there is, then Lana is determined to battle it. Meanwhile, Kiawe takes the rest of the gang to visit his family's dairy farm (where they're more interested in sampling the produce then in helping him), and Team Rocket doesn't have much luck with their own Totem Pokémon-fishing, especially when it's interrupted by Bewear.

Ash and his friends go to the Wela Volcano Festival, where an Alolan Marowak appears and takes the "Wela Crown", which supposedly has the power to make Pokémon stronger. Ash and Kiawe chase after it, which leads to a fierce battle between Marowak and Kiawe's Turtonator in which, even when using a Z-move, Turtonator is defeated. Kiawe is devastated and disheartened by the loss, but Ash and Turtonator encourage him. The next day, Kiawe and Turtonator face Marowak in a rematch, but this time Turtonator wins. Marowak not only returns the crown but also decides to join Kiawe as one of his Pokémon. Turtonator develops a rivalry with Marowak in the process.

The team of Ash and Mallow find their task more challenging than expected, especially in getting past angry Fomantis, Parasect and an Alolan Diglett. Their search for the final ingredient brings them face-to-face with a Totem Lurantis. Ash and his Pokémon must now battle Lurantis and its partner Castform, but there may be more to this than meets the eye.

The time has come for Ash, now armed with his new Grassium Z-crystal, to face Olivia in the Akala Island Grand Trial Challenge, and Rockruff wants to battle Lycanroc even before the Trial gets underway. This will be a Double Battle; Olivia brings out a Probopass to partner her Lycanroc, and Ash chooses Rowlet to partner Rockruff. The battle is intense, with both Olivia and Ash using Z-moves. With Ash's new Grassium Z-move Bloom Doom, Rowlet defeats Probopass, but then the unthinkable happens: Rockruff wants to battle Lycanroc so fiercely that it attacks Rowlet without thinking when Ash orders Rowlet to help Rockruff. Rockruff is horrified by what it's done, but Ash forgives and encourages his Pokémon, and Rockruff goes on to defeat Lycanroc. Olivia presents Ash with a Rockium Z-crystal, and she tells him that Rockruff may evolve soon. Tapu-Lele appears to honor Ash and Rockruff.

Rockruff, now close to evolving, goes off on its own during the night and encounters Akala Island guardian Tapu Lele. Rockruff battles Tapu Lele but is easily defeated. Concerned for Rockruff, Ash and Pikachu chase after and find Rockruff, but Rockruff attacks Ash and, immediately ashamed, runs away. The next day, everyone else joins in the search for Rockruff, including Olivia's Lycanroc. Rockruff, injured after falling into a river, is found by both Olivia's and Gladion's Lycanroc and brought to the Ruins of Life. Ash arrives with Olivia and Professor Kukui in time to stop the Island Guardian from battling the two Lycanroc. Using energy from Ash and both Lycanroc, Tapu Lele heals Rockruff, who then evolves into Dusk Form Lycanroc.

Ash and his friends have returned to Melemele Island, but Team Rocket is there to welcome them back by trying to steal Pikachu once again! When Ash's Rockium Z-move Continental Crush fails, Kiawe's Firium Z-move sends Team Rocket blasting off. However, Bewear fails to appear and Team Rocket crashes separately, with Jessie and Mimikyu landing in a shopping mall. Mimikyu's disguise has been badly damaged, so Jessie first devises a temporary disguise from a paper bag and then tries to find something new. While James, Mewoth, and Wobbuffet search for their missing partner, Ash and Lycanroc try to master Continental Crush. Jessie eventually repairs Mimikyu's Pikachu disguise, but it is stolen by a flock of Murkrow who were actually after Jessie's donut. James, Meowth, and Wobbuffet catch up to Jessie just as she retrieves both disguise and donut. The angry Murkrow return in force, but Mimikyu resumes its Pikachu disguise and drives them off. Full of confidence in their closer bond, Jessie and Mimikyu challenge Ash again. However, Ash and Lycanroc have mastered Continental Crush and send Team Rocket blasting off again, but this time Bewear rescues them.

A television crew has come to Mallow's family restaurant, outside of which Team Rocket has set up an unsuccessful competing food truck. However, when Mallow's father overworks her and appears unappreciative of her efforts, she loses her temper and runs off with Steenee in pursuit. Naturally, Team Rocket sees an opportunity and chases after them. When Mallow knocks herself out in a fall, she is found and cared for by a Oranguru. While Mallow's remorseful father and the gang search for Mallow, Team Rocket captures Steenee. Oranguru's psychic powers free Steenee, and the two combined prove more than a match for Team Rocket. Bewear appears, but it and Oranguru refuse to fight each other and Team Rocket is once again carried off. When Mallow's father and the gang arrive, Mallow's father recognizes Oranguru as his cooking teacher, and he and Mallow reconcile.

Suiren and Ashimari have been practicing the Water-type Z-move Super Aqua Tornado, but so far with no success and Suiren is feeling discouraged. Satoshi, Suiren and Mao meet a performing Osyamari and its trainer Ia who possesses a Z-ring with a Waterium Z-crystal and can perform Super Aqua Tornado, and Suiren begs Ia to teach her. Ia and Osyamari are helping her friend Kanoa to search for a Mysterious Droplet that may be located in the wreck of a sunken ship and Satoshi, Suiren, Mao and their Pokémon join in to help, but when Rocket-Dan try to steal the Droplet they anger a Dadarin that's been living on the wreck and trick it into attacking Kanoa's boat. When Osyamari is knocked out and Dadarin creates a deadly whirlpool, Suiren and Ashimari master and use Super Aqua Tornado to defeat Dadarin. With everyone safe, Kanoa finds the Droplet and gives it to Ia.

September 7, 2017 November 25, 2017[16]
Māmane enters a special race with a miniature car powered by his Dendimushi against other Dendimushi-powered cars. Satoshi and Kaki are keen to help, with Satoshi acting as the car's track partner and Kaki as mechanic. The problem is, Dendimushi can't seem to generate enough power to make its car run very fast, but it gets stronger and faster with all three Trainers' help. The day of the race, they find that they have a rival team with a flashy Dendimushi-car and a very arrogant attitude. Rocket-Dan has also entered the race, with Kojiro as track partner, Musashi as track spotter and Sonans/Hidoide supposedly as mechanic, and they have no intention of following the rules to win the prize, especially since their Dendimushi-car is a fake run by Nyarth inside it. The race is in three stages: 1) a rocky terrain, 2) a desert terrain and 3) an urban area, with obstacles in each area powered by a Pokémon; however, with Māmane as track spotter, some unorthodox moves and teamwork and Rocket-Dan's cheating exposed, Team Māmane puts up a good fight. Things look grim when Satoshi is knocked unconscious in the urban area, but Māmane takes over as track partner and he and Dendimushi bring in the victory.
983 977 "Alola, Kanto!" (Kanto, Alola! Takeshi and Kasumi!!)
"Kantō de Arōra! Takeshi to Kasumi!!" (カントーでアローラ! タケシとカスミ!!)
September 14, 2017 November 25, 2017[16]
Satoshi returns to Kanto with his friends, their Pokémon, Professor Kukui and Principal Ōkido as part of a special Pokémon school project about the differences between Kanto and Alolan Pokémon, and who should be waiting for him at the airport but Kasumi and Takeshi ... and Takeshi hasn't changed a bit as he both cares for Lilie's Shiron and then chases after a pretty flight attendant! Not only do old friends happily reunite, but the gang from Alola have a grand time with their Pokémon seeing and interacting with their Kanto counterparts at Professor Ōkido's lab: Satoshi's herd of Kentauros naturally stampede on him and he happily reunites with his Fushigidane and Betbeton; Kaki races a Gallop on his Ride Lizardon and then rides it; Mao and Amamaiko have an unfortunate interaction with a Kanto Ruffresia; Māmane and Togedemaru meet a Kanto Raichu with shocking results; Shiron meets a Kanto Kyukon; and Suiren and Ashimari meet a Kanto Jugon and then swim with Kasumi and other Water Pokémon. As Satoshi, Kasumi and Takeshi remember old times, it's great to see that some things haven't changed (Kasumi is still terrified of Bug Pokémon). Rocket-Dan have also returned to Kanto on orders, and their latest (and old-school) plot to steal everyone's Pokémon using a giant mechanical Nyarth reunites the original trio as battling partners including Satoshi's Lugarugan, Kasumi's Hitodeman and Takeshi's Crobat. However, the battle is once again interrupted by Kiteraguma (wearing a jet-pack!), and another old acquaintance, Purin, finishes things off in its usual fashion. The eventful day ends with a magnificent outdoor feast prepared by Hanako and Barri-chan ... spied upon by none other than Mew!
984 978 "Gym Battle! Z-Move VS Mega Evolution!!"
"Jimu batoru! Z-Waza tai Mega Shinka!!" (ジムバトル! Zワザ対メガシンカ!!)
September 21, 2017
While the previous day was all fun, the next day brings more interesting things for Satoshi and the Alolan visitors as they and their Pokémon travel to Kasumi's Gym in Hanada City. After explaining about Gym Battles and Pokémon Leagues, Professor Kukui announces that the class will be engaging in Gym Battles against Takeshi and Kasumi. After two mock battles (Mao, Amamaiko, Suiren and Ashimari against Kasumi and Koduck and Lilie, Shiron, Māmane and Togedemaru against Takeshi and Isitsubute), real Gym Battles will now be fought: Kaki against Takeshi and Satoshi against Kasumi, but each battle is taken to a new level with Takeshi and Kasumi both revealing they have Key Stones and using Mega-Evolution. Kaki's Firium Z-Move Dynamic Full Flame proves useless against Takeshi's Mega-Evolved Haganeil and Bakugames is defeated, but Satoshi and Pikachu's unorthodox strategy and his Electrium Z-move Sparking Gigavolt defeat Kasumi's Mega-Evolved Gyarados.

Satoshi has a dream in which he and Pikachu find an ancient mist-shrouded temple and encounter two mysterious Pokémon. He makes a promise to them, after which another Pokemon appears. The next morning, he, Pikachu and Rotom-Dex are led by Kapu-Kokeko to a spot in the forest where they find a sleeping Cosmog, a Pokémon that Rotom cannot identify but which Satoshi recognizes from his dream. Satoshi takes it to the Pokémon school, where he asks his friends to help him care for it, with both interesting and unfortunate results. Satoshi decides to care for the Cosmog and Lilie names it "Hoshigumo". Lilie's mother Lusamine, the President of the Aether Corporation, re-enters her daughter's life in the company of her associates Professor Burnet, Sauboh and Wicke, but Lilie is not happy to see her. Lusamine and the Aether Corporation have a powerful interest in the temple from Satoshi's dream and what they call Ultra Beasts. They are shocked when Satoshi tells them about his dream, and Lusamine asks Satoshi to let Aether look after Hoshigumo, who may be an Ultra Beast. Satoshi turns down the offer, saying he will keep his promise to look after Hoshigumo, a decision that Lusamune accepts but Sauboh is not pleased with.

"Hoshigumo panikku! Terepōto wa totsuzen ni!!" (ほしぐもパニック! テレポートは突然に!!)
October 12, 2017
Hoshigumo seems to be settling in nicely with Satoshi and his Pokémon, but things start to take a sinister turn when Rocket-Dan notice Hoshigumo with Satoshi. Since it's a Pokémon they've never seen before, they naturally start making plans. At school, the class are working on Pokémon sculpture (with varying results) when Hoshigumo starts manifesting the ability to teleport class members to various locations they happened to be thinking about at the time (Lilie isn't teleported because Hoshigumo falls asleep). Hoshigumo teleports Satoshi, Pikachu and itself to Purin's location, with the usual/expected results when Purin starts singing. It then teleports them all to all the previous locations, then finally to Rocket-Dan's location. When Satoshi refuses to give Hoshigumo to Rocket-Dan, Musashi sends out Mimmikyu to battle Pikachu, with the others grabbing Hoshigumo while Satoshi and Pikachu are distracted. However, just as Rocket-Dan are celebrating, Hoshigumo teleports them and itself to Kiteraguma's den and then teleports itself back to Satoshi.

October 19, 2017
Satoshi and the gang visit Aether Paradise, where they are greeted by Wicke and Sauboh; however, while Sauboh is eager to see Hoshigumo, he treats Mokuroh very badly. Also on Aether Paradise are Rocket-Dan, disguised as Aether employees (hired by Sauboh). Satoshi and friends are given a tour which includes Lusamine's mansion, where Lusamine is constantly too distracted by phone calls and business to even try to be a proper hostess and Rocket-Dan is forced to serve snacks. At Professor Burnet's research area, they meet a group of Metamon, one of which does not like Professor Burnet's medical treatment and runs off, assuming the forms of other Pokémon in the facility (including Rotom!). Naturally, Satoshi and friends give chase and Metamon is finally nabbed when it disguises itself as Shiron but is spotted by Lilie as a fake. Sauboh is worried that Lilie may remember why she can't touch Pokémon, and Rocket-Dan stumbles across information about Aether's research in Sauboh's lab.

It's bath time for Satoshi's Pokémon, but an accident caused by Nyabby gets Lugarugan dirty again, which makes it very angry! While giving Lugarugan a second bath, Satoshi starts thinking about Glazio, causing Hoshigumo to teleport him, Pikachu and Lugarugan to Glazio's location. Hoshigumo is terrified by Glazio's frightening helmeted Pokémon Type: Null, and Glazio makes it back off. Glazio gets very upset when Satoshi tells him that Hoshigumo may be an Ultra Beast and later explains that he saw part of the incident that emotionally damaged Lilie: an attack by an Ultra Beast. When Glazio wants to know what makes Satoshi so special, Satoshi asks Glazio for a resumption of the battle they left unfinished before, since he believes trainers get to know each other through battling. It's Satoshi's Lugarugan versus Glazio's Type: Null. Lugarugan is knocked into a pond and gets dirty again, which makes it angry and out of control. Satoshi tries to stop Lugarugan, but it's Hoshigumo's crying that calms Lugarugan down. The battle re-commences, and Type: Null defeats Lugarugan.

Lilie's day does not begin well, as Lusamine has instructed James to videotape all of her interactions with Shiron and other Pokemon. Lilie complains to Lusamine, but things end badly when Lusamine takes another call in the middle of Lilie's call. At Professor Kukui's house, Professor Burnet is giving Hoshigumo an examination when Kaki, Mao, Suiren, Lilie, Māmane and their Pokémon arrive for a sleep-over. Satoshi invites Professor Burnet to stay over as well, and she accepts. A game of Hoshigumo Hide-and-Seek decides whether the boys or the girls get to sleep up in the loft where Satoshi usually sleeps, and a fast-paced game of Fully Powered Pose, One-Two-Three literally goes up in flames when Kaki gets over-excited and uses his Z-move. Professor Burnet offers to cook dinner, but her first try is ruined by her Gonbe, which devours everyone's food. While waiting for the second attempt at dinner, Satoshi, Kaki and their Pokémon go outside to train and are joined by the others. Later that evening while everyone else is sleeping, Lilie goes outside. Professor Burnet follows, and Lilie tells her about her quarrel with Lusamine. The next morning as everyone is going home, Lilie wishes that she could talk to her brother, and Hoshigumo immediately teleports her to Glazio's cave. Before Glazio can stop it, Glazio's Type: Null Silvady appears before Lilie, causing her to flash back to a terrifying attack. Hoshigumo teleports her back to the others, but the experience has caused Lilie to regress and she can no longer bear to touch or be touched by Shiron.

Glazio is furious about what has happened to Lilie and blames Satoshi. Later that same night, he secretly meets Sauboh at a motel and confronts him with his Lugarugan and Blacky, but Sauboh is prepared and unleashes a Sleeper and a Foodin, both of whom easily defeat Glazio's Pokémon. Before Glazio can unleash Silvady, Sauboh uses Sleeper to hypnotize Glazio and Sauboh takes Silvady's Pokéball. The next day, Satoshi, the gang and Professors Kukui and Burnet try to cheer Lilie up and Lilie tries to overcome her regression, but fails. After school, Lilie tells Satoshi about her experience at Glazio's cave. In response to Lilie's feelings, Hoshigumo teleports her, Satoshi, Pikachu, Shiron and Rotom to places where Lilie has happy memories of when she and Glazio were children. They are finally transported to the lab level on Aether Paradise. Their arrival is spotted by both Sauboh and Rocket-Dan, while in Lusamine's office Glazio confronts his mother about Sauboh's actions. Sauboh sends Sleeper and Foodin to attack Satoshi and Lilie, and Sauboh kidnaps Lilie. Before his Sleeper can hypnotize Lilie, Hoshigumo teleports Satoshi and the other Pokémon to their location, and Glazio and Lusamine arrive during the battle. Glazio, who has recovered Silvady from Sauboh's lab, unleashes him. Silvady's helmet shatters and during its rescue of Lilie from Foodin, she fully remembers what happened to her: how Sauboh had released an Ultra Beast from a wormhole which had grabbed her and how Silvady had saved her. Silvady easily defeats Sleeper and Foodin. Now, with her memories restored, Lilie is able to touch Silvady, as well as other Pokémon.

Everyone is delighted that Lilie can now touch Pokémon, but Sauboh, who had escaped the previous battle, now unleashes a plan to kidnap Hoshigumo in order to further his own dreams for power. When he tries to open a wormhole, Lusamine herself steps in to stop him.

Specials[edit]

This is a list of special episodes of the series. In its fifteen-year run, the anime has shown various specials. In English-language broadcast, these have been played or are playing as the Pokémon Chronicles series. In Japan, the specials were shown during the series centering on Ash's journeys in that region. Many of these specials centered on legendary Pokémon or one or more of the main characters that is separate from the main cast during its corresponding series. Occasionally, a special would center on Team Rocket. Only two of the specials have centered on Ash: Mewtwo Returns, and The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon.
